We always want our babies to be happy. We want them to feel comfortable as always, especially during diaper changing and during sleeping. Wiping them is one way of keeping them comfortable and happy.
Babies have different types of skin. Some are more sensitive than others. The general consensus of doctors is to wait until the baby is a month old before using wipes on newborns. This is the safest approach, giving time for the baby’s skin to mature and thicken a bit before commercially available wipes are used for cleaning during diaper change. In the meantime, parents can make use of warm water and clean soft cloth. However using ‘just water’ can be inconvenient, meaning water has to be fetched from the tap each time the baby needs a nappy or diaper change. Given that newborn babies can poo up to 10 times a day, this can quickly grow tiresome. After this critical period, use of high quality wipes is generally recommended by health specialists. The best wipes to use are the all-natural unscented ones which are alcohol-free, and super-thick. Don’t settle for a thin wipe that’s too wet and slippery. These wipes may be more affordable but your baby’s bottom might end up red and itchy. Parents might be attracted to the available scents that are offered at specialty shops, but they have to prioritize the baby’s needs first before satisfying their need for variety. Watch out for the ones with very strong smell. They probably contain strong chemicals which are not good for your baby.
Washable cloth baby wipes are available through many retailers and range from all-in-one kits offering everything needed to use washable wipes at home or when out and about, to simple washcloths. They come in a variety of fabrics, from cotton terry towelling and bamboo viscose on the ‘natural’ side, to manmade fibres like fleece or minkee. All these fabrics have their own unique properties which should be taken into consideration, like softness, drying time, wiping traction etc. This means that some fabrics are best for wiping poo, and others are better for hands and faces etc. It’s worthwhile to take a little time to investigate which fabric will suit you best. Best Baby Wipes For Newborns
Who doesn’t adore babies? Very few people aren’t “fans” of babies. Majority of the population all over the world love babies – those little ones, after all, are like angels sent from the heavens. Just one look at a baby’s smile, or just the sounds of babies’ laughs will warm hearts. If you’re a mom, even a dad, you’ll want to ensure that you use only the best, if not the best, at least, good quality stuff on your baby. A brand new baby has super sensitive skin which is why, midwives recommend using just water to gently cleanse them during the first 6 weeks of their life. (NICE Clinical Excellence guidelines.)
But then, one of the things made for new born babies that are becoming very popular are the so-called bamboo baby wipes. These are wipes, or “wet tissues” that are made from 100% bamboo fiber.
These bamboo made wipes are the best ever made wipes for new born babies as recommended.
They cause No Itch, No Rash
Most babies have sensitive skin. You can’t just rub or apply something on a baby’s skin just like you do on your own skin. This is because rashes and other irritation symptoms could form on your little angel’s skin. Many of the pure bamboo baby wipes available are hypoallergenic. This means that when you use them to wipe your son’s or daughter’s cute bottom, or whatever part of the body, you won’t have to worry about skin irritations.
They are Ultra Soft and Ultra Smooth
Part of the list of benefits of bamboo (in this case bamboo wipes) that is related to the no itch, no rash fact, is softness. Some parents may be imagining a rougher set of wipes just because bamboo is a hard kind of wood, but, the truth is, wipes made from bamboo fiber are usually so soft and so smooth which can explain why babies get to be rash-free and itch-free.
If you think that nothing could be softer than cotton, then, you have not tried bamboo baby wipes yet!
Eco-Friendly you use them and Nature’s Happy
If you don’t want to see your kids living in a world where nature is almost non-existent, you have to buy more environment friendly products. Wipes manufactured from bamboo fiber are great suggestions. You’re hitting two birds with one stone with these wipes – your baby’s skin is protected, or your baby is made comfy, while Mother Nature starts smiling at you.
Eco-friendliness is one of the benefits of bamboo, specifically 100% natural bamboo fiber, think about how it will benefit you and your baby. These bamboo baby wipes were made without causing damage to the earth, and that is important. If a lot of people buy these wipes, nature could be little by little preserved and even “saved”.
Best Baby Wipes For Diaper Rash
You’re not a bad mother if your baby ends up with diaper rash, this is a common occurrence and happens to every baby at some point in time. The common reaction especially in new mothers is oh no what have I done, but the truth is babies’ bottoms are very susceptible to rash due to the warm moist environment created by the diaper and this can happen in cloth or disposable diapers but during this period one needs to be very careful when it comes to diaper changing and wipes to be used. When your baby ends up with diaper rash, it is advisable to stay away from scented wipes and generic wipes as they will only worsen the rash. The best wipe to use during this period of your baby’s rash are unscented baby wipes free of alcohol.
A baby wipe may contain several chemicals such as sodium diamphoacetate, propylene glycol, methyl and propyl paraben, coco phosphatidylPG-dimonium chloride, hydroxymethyl cellulose and triclosan. These chemicals are not only harmful to human health, but as waste products, they can pollute aquatic and land ecosystems just like other nappies do. Homemade baby wipes are very easy to make. You can just simply use water on your baby’s bottom unless you are changing a predominantly messy nappy. These are very gentle to your baby’s skin because you know what the solution is made of. They are often reported to be more effective at cleaning your baby’s bottom because of their textured nature.
At home, you can moisten your wipes in your mixed solution. Just place them in a plastic container or in a resealable plastic bag. Your wipes can be a simple cloth (cotton, bamboo or fleece) that can be soaked, or wet as necessary.
Tea tree oil is a natural ingredient which has disinfectant properties along with its fresh, clean smell. For a natural and easy to make solution: Mix 2 tablespoon of mild baby shampoo or baby wash, 2 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 cups of clean, warm water. To make your it more smooth: Mix a 1/4 cup of Aloe Vera gel, 2 cups of hot water and 2 drops of tea tree oil. For even smoother wipes with fragrance: Mix 1 Vitamin E cap, 2 drops of tea tree oil, 2 cups of water and 2 drops of lavender essential oil.
If you want it to be free from fungi, mix a half cup distilled water, a 1/4 cup Aloe Vera gel, a 1/4 cup vinegar, and 1 tablespoon calendula oil. Do not include vinegar whenyour baby’s skin is red caused by nappy rash. You can put them in a spray bottle or in a container of your choice. If you are using a spray bottle, spray them over it before using. Pour solution over the finish product if you are using a wipes container.
